University Circle Oral History Project

University Circle is home to many of the city’s oldest and most respected institutions: Severance Hall, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and Case Western Reserve University to name just a few. Since 1970, University Circle Inc. has been at the forefront of development in the area. In addition to coordinating internships at UCI, the Center has collected a number of interviews with UCI staff, community activists, and local residents and workers in the University Circle area. The interviews offer insights into neighborhood and institutional history, and characterize UCI’s changing mission and development strategies over the course of time.

The full interviews can be found in the Cleveland Regional Oral History Collection.

The Center is focused on bringing together individuals and scholarship in history, education, library and information sciences and technology in order to better serve the public. We specialize in state-of-the-art public history projects and resources, mobile apps and websites, and oral history.
