The Detroit Shoreway Oral History Project

The Detroit Shoreway Oral History Project aims to collect, preserve, and present stories about Cleveland’s Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. A collaboration between the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization, Cleveland State University Department of History and Ryan Weitzel of Exit Stencil Records, the project aims to collect, preserve, and present stories about the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood and, in doing so, create a tangible bond between the bricks and mortar of the community, and the people within it. The full interviews will be published in the Cleveland Regional Oral History Collection.

The Center is focused on bringing together individuals and scholarship in history, education, library and information sciences and technology in order to better serve the public. We specialize in state-of-the-art public history projects and resources, mobile apps and websites, and oral history.
