Center for Public History & Digital Humanities

Teaching & Learning

The Center for Public History & Digital Humanities coordinates select grant-funded teacher workshops for the Cleveland State University Dept. of History, and is involved in several core classes within the department as well. Additionally, the Center provides technical and other support to faculty and internship students working on independent digital projects.

The Center’s efforts at Teaching & Learning expanded dramatically during 2009 with the creation of an Omeka-based platform for digital collecting and exhibits. In partnership with Cleveland Memory (esp. the Cleveland Press Collection at CSU), the Western Reserve Historical Society, and the Cuyahoga County Archives the Center has built an expansive digital archives with teachers and students. Teaching & Learning Cleveland interprets the region’s history and has become a tool for teachers throughout the region. (Click Teaching & Learning Cleveland at the top of the column on the right.)
